BATON ROUGE – All fans will have the opportunity to win exciting prizes through LSU Volleyball’s Twitter account starting Tuesday.
Those prizes include a tour of Tiger Stadium in addition to other LSU Athletic facilities along with autographed paraphernalia from LSU head coaches.
For your chance to win these big prizes, fans must become a follower of the defending SEC champions. Twitter is a free service that lets users keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?
Fans can interact with Twitter via apps on their mobile phones such as Hootsuite, UberTwitter and Twitter for Blackberry. Fans can also receive Twitter via their text messaging system.
Setting up text updates through Twitter is easy using the following steps:
1. Under “Settings,” click on the tab for “Devices.”
2. Enter your cell number using a “+” before the country code, which is the number 1 for the United States. The cell number entered should be in the format +15552223333.
3. Check the box that says, “It’s okay for Twitter to send txt messages to my phone,” before clicking the “Save” button.
4. Return to your homepage and access the list of Twitter users you are following.
5. Under LSUVolleyball, set Device Updates to “On.”
The accounts accessed from www.LSUsports.net/connect are the only social media entities that are officially sanctioned by the LSU Athletics Department.
