BATON ROUGE – LSU forward Tasmin Mitchell said Friday that he has been contacted by the Cleveland Cavaliers and will go with the team as a free agent for the upcoming summer league NBA play in Las Vegas that begins on July 9 and runs through July 18.
“It is looking very good,” Mitchell said. “I feel very blessed. I got the first call from them right after the draft. I’m very excited.”
Mitchell, who finished his career as the No. 3 career scorer in his four years at LSU, could very well be reunited with former LSU assistant John Trelor, who is the head coach of the NBA D-League Eric Bayhawks. Treloar is expected to be one of the coaches of the Cleveland summer league team.
