BATON ROUGE — Eight student-athletes from the LSU swimming and diving, track and field and soccer teams volunteered their time at Kappa Delta Sorority’s Charity Shamrock Event to Prevent Child Abuse Saturday.
Shanna Spears, Lamar Weeks, Brooke Barnett, Brock Davis and Sean Roddy from swimming and diving, Lauren Saucier and Brandon Gordon from track and field and Mo Isom from soccer helped raise awareness and serve jambalaya to those who donated to the cause at two locations on the St. Patrick’s Day Parade route.
“We had a great turnout for the Shamrock, which was really great for us,” said Katie McKay, Vice President of Community Service for the Kappa Delta Sorority. “We were so happy to have the athletes come out and help. They were as friendly as could be and so willing to help us out.”
