Kirsten Shortridge, CF, Sr., Keller, Texas

Shortridge posted her best weekend of the season and notched a .727 hitting clip going 8-for-11 at the plate fueled by a trio of multi-hit performances to raise her season average by 43 points to a scorching .420 mark. She also scored seven runs, stole a base in each game and picked up three RBIs from the leadoff spot to spark the Tigers to a weekend sweep at South Carolina. The Preseason All-SEC Team selection saved a memorable 4-for-4 effort with four runs scored for the series finale. Nominee for Player of the Week

Cody Trahan, P, Sr., Little Cypress, Texas

Already entering the weekend with a SEC-leading 0.21 ERA, Trahan outdid herself in the series opener as LSU pitchers fired a trio of shutouts at South Carolina. She tossed a five-hitter and mowed down eight batters without the services of her usual cleats or glove. Those items didn’t arrive in Columbia until after the game along with other equipment items. Trahan sat down 12 of the first 15 batters she faced and worked around a pair of LSU errors. The Little Cypress, Texas native improved to 6-0 on the season and now sports an impressive 0.18 ERA. She has allowed only one run and one walk against 45 strikeouts in 40 innings of work.
