BATON ROUGE – The LSU men’s and women’s cross country teams received All-Academic team honors, announced by the USTFCCCA.
The men’s team accumulated a 3.29 cumulative GPA, while the women’s team combined to achieve a 3.34 cumulative GPA.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
Winning the men’s Scholar Team of the Year award was Oklahoma State, who won their first NCAA Cross Country national championship in November and compiled a team cumulative GPA of 3.06. The Scholar Team of the Year distinction goes to the program that earned All-Academic Team honors and placed the highest among the field at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Vanderbilt and Creighton led the full slate of All-Academic Team honorees with a cumulative team GPA of 3.67. The SEC, along with the ACC led all conferences with eight institutions earning the award.
Villanova won the women’s Scholar Team of the Year award after capturing their eighth NCAA Women’s Cross Country title in November and posting a cumulative team GPA of 3.38.
Alabama leads all women’s All-Academic Team honorees with a cumulative team GPA of 3.86. Missouri State is next on the list at a 3.81 GPA. Ten teams represented the SEC on this year’s honor roll.
