BATON ROUGE – After posting a season-high 196.925 in an upset victory over Oregon State, the LSU gymnastics team earned a regional qualifying score of 196.110 to hold on to the No. 10 national ranking in the latest standings released by GymInfo on Monday.
Senior All-American Susan Jackson earned the No. 1 spot in the all-around rankings for the eighth-straight week as she upped her RQS to 39.555, while Missouri’s Sarah Shire moved to No. 2 with a 39.530 score.
LSU (6-4-1, 2-3-1 Southeastern Conference) picked up nearly two tenths in the RQS after shattering the season high with the near-197 score against the Beavers.
Alabama checked in as the No. 1 team with a 197.155 RQS, followed by Oklahoma (196.920), UCLA (196.900), Florida (196.685) and Georgia (196.615) to round out the top five.
Stanford was ranked sixth at 196.450, and Arkansas (196.375), Oregon State (196.355), Utah (196.220) and LSU made up the bottom half of the top 10.
All seven SEC teams were ranked again as Kentucky was No. 15 with a 195.600 RQS and Auburn was No. 17 at 195.510.
After recording a season-high on beam and tying the season-best bars score, the Tigers moved up two spots in each event. LSU moved up to No. 8 on bars with a 49.110 RQS and No. 10 on beam with a 48.960 RQS.
LSU remained 12th on vault with a 49.165 score, and the Tigers slipped one spot to No. 15 on floor with a 49.020 RQS.
In the individual event rankings, Jackson remained No. 1 on vault as well with a 9.940 RQS, and she also checked in at No. 4 on bars (9.90 RQS), No. 12 on beam (9.870) and No. 19 on floor (9.885).
Summer Hubbard moved up four spots to No. 12 in the bars rankings with a 9.875 RQS. Against Oregon State, Hubbard scored a 9.925 on bars to win the event title.
LSU will play host to Iowa on Senior Night at 7 p.m. Friday in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
