BATON ROUGE – Former LSU national champion gymnast Ashleigh Clare-Kearney was selected as the chairperson and spokesperson for the “Red Nose Day” fundraiser by the McMains Children’s Developmental Center.
Clare-Kearney was chosen by the center to promote “Red Nose Day” that will take place on May 7, and she returned to the LSU gymnastics practice space Wednesday to shoot a public service announcement for the fundraiser.
“When the McMains Center presented me the opportunity to be the chairperson for Red Nose Day I was so excited to be a part of such a unique event,” Clare-Kearney said. “I am so honored to have been chosen as the spokesperson, and it has truly been a humbling experience so far.”
People can contribute to the “Red Nose Day” fundraiser by buying a t-shirt for $15 or a foam red nose for $5, and people can show their support by wearing the red nose and t-shirt on May 7.
The goal of the fundraiser is $38,000 that will go toward the center’s goal to provide continued therapy to children who suffer from developmental diseases.
LSU head coach D-D Breaux served as the chairperson for McMains’ “Red Nose Day” in 2007.
