Volleyball Team Visits Local Hospital

BATON ROUGE – Nine members of the SEC-champion LSU volleyball team took time to visit young patients at a local hospital over the weekend. The players went from room-to-room and spent time with the children and their families. They also handed out team posters and signed autographs.

“It was really great to take some time out and try our best to put some smiles on these great kids,” sophomore Lauren Waclawczyk said. “Each of us enjoyed talking and getting to know these kids. It leaves a good feeling in all of our hearts to make a difference.”

LSU put together an impressive 25-7 record in 2009 en route to the program’s first SEC regular season title since 1991. Under head coach Fran Flory, the defending five-time SEC Western Division champions are one of only 20 programs in the nation to appear in the last five NCAA Tournaments.
