BATON ROUGE – Coming off a solid 196.050 road score last week, the LSU gymnastics team retained the No. 10 national ranking while senior All-American Susan Jackson earned the No 1 all-around ranking for the seventh-straight week in the latest standings released by GymInfo on Monday.
LSU (5-4-1, 2-3-1 Southeastern Conference) fell at Georgia, 196.575-196.050, last week, but the Tigers improved their regional qualifying score two tenths to 195.945.
Jackson captured her seventh all-around title of the season against the Bulldogs with a 39.450 performance, including a 9.95 on vault.
In the team event rankings, LSU moved up one spot to No. 12 in the beam standings and two spots to No. 14 in the floor standings. LSU also checked in at No. 10 on bars and 12th on vault.
In the individual rankings, Jackson remained No. 1 in the all-around standings with a 39.530 RQS, while Penn State’s Brandi Personett moved up to No. 2 with a 39.480 RQS.
Jackson also ranked first on vault with a 9.935 RQS and was third on bars at 9.895. She checked in at No. 11 on beam with a 9.865 RQS, and she was also ranked 14th on floor at 9.880.
Senior Summer Hubbard, a two-time All-American on bars, advanced five spots to No. 16 in the bars rankings with a 9.850 RQS.
Alabama reclaimed the No. 1 overall ranking with a 196.910 RQS, followed by Oklahoma (196.730), UCLA (196.650), Florida (196.550) and Georgia (196.490) to round out the top five.
Oregon State earned the No. 6 ranking with a 196.355 RQS, and Stanford (196.270), Arkansas (196.165), Utah (196.155) and LSU made up the bottom half of the top 10.
All seven SEC teams were ranked, including Kentucky at 15th with a 195.495 RQS and Auburn at 16th with a 195.310 score.
No. 10 LSU and sixth-ranked Oregon State will square off Friday in the Third Annual Etta James Memorial Meet at 7 p.m. in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Fans can donate money at the meet to aid Foundation 56, an organization created by former LSU football standout Bradie James to raise awareness and fight breast cancer in the Baton Rouge community.
