BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team moved up one spot to No. 10 with a 195.745 regional qualifying score in the initial RQS rankings released Monday by GymInfo.
LSU (5-3-1, 2-2-1 Southeastern Conference) tied Arkansas last week, but the Tigers posted a 196.200 in the meet to give the team a solid road score for the first RQS rankings.
The RQS is based on a team’s and all-around competitor’s six best regular-season meet scores, but three meets must be away. To obtain the regional qualifying score, the high score is eliminated and the remaining five scores are averaged.
Senior All-American Susan Jackson retained the No. 1 ranking in the all-around standings with a 39.525 RQS.
It marked the sixth-straight week Jackson has been ranked No. 1, and she holds the distinction over Arkansas’ second-ranked Casey Jo Magee by more than a tenth as Magee has a 39.390 RQS.
