BATON ROUGE – The No. 19 LSU softball team will take fans behind the scenes at different points during the 2010 season. The Tigers welcome No. 4 Michigan, Oklahoma State and Virginia to the Wilson/DeMarini Tiger Classic this weekend.

Sophomore Ashley Langoni paces the Tigers with a pair of home runs and five RBIs this season. Langoni checked in to share some thoughts after Thursday’s practice on the upcoming weekend.

Playing in Tiger Park is an exhilarating rush! There’s nothing like it. To play in front of our fans on game days is like no feeling I get at any other ball park. The atmosphere is stunning with the palm trees on the berm, the painted Tiger Eye in centerfield, and the smell of fresh cut grass. Our facility is truly one of kind.

The most important factor to our success hands down is our die hard fans. You’re out there whether it’s windy, rainy, hot, or cold. We’re so grateful to have amazing people out there cheering us on. No matter who you are, whether you’re a long time season ticket holder or it’s your first game, we consider you a part of the LSU softball family when you enter the gates at Tiger Park.

We have three tough teams, Michigan, Oklahoma State and Virginia, coming in this weekend. With the backing of our supporters, it will make Tiger Park even tougher on our competition. It’s very intimidating for teams to come in and play comfortable when you have the opposing team fans roaring at you.

Tiger fans, we ask that you bring a friend with you this weekend. We thank you for your outstanding support with all our hearts and look forward to seeing you pack the stadium full of purple and gold.

Geaux Tigers,

Ashley
