BATON ROUGE – LSUsports.net will get to know the seven newcomers on the Tiger softball team leading into the 2010 season. Today’s final edition features Jackie Victoriano.
Victoriano played for two seasons at Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport. She notched All-City and All-District First-Team honors in 2008 and 2009 as her team won the 2009 2A state championship. She also garnered All-State Honorable Mention and Academic All-State accolades in 2009.
“My biggest adjustment to college softball has been learning how to see the movement of the pitches, Victoriano said. “There’s a big difference, and you have to work hard every day to keep getting better at this level.”
The Tigers square off against No. 19 North Carolina, No. 21 DePaul and host Texas, a trio of 2009 NCAA Tournament squads, at the Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational starting on Friday.
