BATON ROUGE — The 2009 SEC champion LSU volleyball program will be recognized for its accomplishments during Thursday’s men’s basketball game against No. 14 Tennessee at the Maravich Center.

The Tigers will be honored with a special highlight video and be present on the floor during the under four minute media timeout of the first half.

LSU tallied a 25-7 record and picked up its first conference championship since 1991. Brittnee Cooper, Sam Dabbs and Marina Skender sparked the Tigers en route to All-SEC First-Team selections. Cooper also earned SEC Player of the Year and AVCA All-America First-Team honors, while Dabbs and Skender garnered AVCA All-America Honorable Mention accolades.

“It’s wonderful that our team is going to be able to get back together and celebrate this championship season,” head coach Fran Flory said. “We haven’t had a chance to do this since the holiday break and it will be extra special to have the seniors with us. I know the players are thrilled to have the fans recognize them, and we certainly appreciate the opportunity.”

LSU has racked up an impressive 115-38 record since the 2005 season. Under Flory, the five-time defending SEC Western Division champions are one of only 20 programs in the nation to appear in the last five NCAA Tournaments.
