BATON ROUGE – LSU All-American senior Susan Jackson was ranked No. 1 for the third consecutive week in the all-around rankings released Monday by GymInfo while the Tigers climbed one spot to No. 12 in the team rankings.
The nation’s top two all-arounders will square off Friday when Jackson and LSU (3-3, 1-2 SEC) face Alabama’s Morgan Dennis and the top-ranked Crimson Tide.
Jackson leads the nation with a 39.487 average while Dennis is second with a 39.383 average.
In the event rankings, Jackson is ranked third on vault with a 9.906 average, seventh on floor with a 9.881 average, eighth on bars with a 9.875 score and 17th on beam with a 9.825.
In the team rankings, LSU moved up one spot to No. 12 with a 195.106 average. The Tigers climbed one spot in the vault rankings to No. 10 with a 49.019 average, checked in at No. 16 on bars with a 48.775 average and stayed idle on beam at No. 18 (48.444 avg) and floor at No. 11 (48.869 avg).
The SEC was well represented again with all seven teams in the top 16 nationally. Alabama earned the top spot with a 196.494 average, Florida was third with a 196.156 average, Arkansas was seventh (195.894), Georgia was ninth (195.512) and Kentucky was 11th (195.262). Following LSU is Auburn at No. 16 with a 194.912 average.
LSU will take on Alabama at 7 p.m. CT Friday in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
