Student-Athletes Pitch in at Dreams Come True

BATON ROUGE — Several student-athletes volunteered time on Thursday and Friday at Dreams Come True’s first-annual radiothon hosted at Guaranty Broadcasting radio station.

Baseball’s Mike Lowery, Micah Gibbs and Anthony Ranaudo as well as football’s David Impastato and Thomas Parsons each answered phones for the radiothon.

LSU head baseball coach Paul Maineri and football running back Charles Scott each talked on air during the radiothon to promote the event.

Dreams Come True is an organization that seeks to grant the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses. Established in 1983, the organization seeks to provide happiness, support and encouragement to the children and their families as they struggle to endure and cope with the hardships that life-threatening illnesses bring

Through the radiothon, the organization was able to receive substantial donations to continue its work in helping make children’s dreams come true.
