NORCROSS, Ga. — The 29th-ranked LSU men’s tennis team prepares for its final challenge before the dual season at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships slated for Jan. 15-18 at the Racquet Club of the South.
“This tournament highlights the strength of the SEC,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. “Every match is a great challenge, and we look forward to the competition. By starting the season early, we feel we’ve accomplished our goals of being sharper than normal by this time of year.”
LSU’s nationally-ranked players each earned a seed in the tournament. Twenty-sixth-ranked Neal Skupski holds the fourth seed, 97th-ranked Sebastian Carlsson and 101st-ranked Julien Gauthier both listed as a 9-16 seed.
Five other Tigers are also competing in the singles portion of the tournament: Roger Anderson, Stefan Szacinski, Mark Bowtell, Cody Loup and James Turbervill.
LSU has four doubles teams participating in the tournament. Tiger tandem Skupski and Szacinski earned a 5-8 seed, and other duos participating include: Carlsson and Gauthier, Bowtell and Loup and Anderson and Turbervill.
Competition kicks off at 7 a.m. CDT with the singles round of 64. Doubles matches will begin at 2:30 p.m.
