Volleyball Claims First SEC Title Since 1991

BATON ROUGE — After finishing with an 18-2 record in the Southeastern Conference, the LSU volleyball team was crowned SEC Champions on Wednesday night when Kentucky (17-3) lost to Tennessee in five sets. The title is the school’s first since advancing to the Final Four in 1991.

The Tigers (24-5, 18-2 SEC) also earned an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament as the SEC regular-season champion. There is no postseason conference volleyball tournament.

LSU wraps up the regular season with a match against Rice on Friday at 7 p.m. in Houston.

The NCAA field will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 29, at 2 p.m. CST on ESPNews.
