BATON ROUGE ? The LSU softball team finished its two-part media training Monday inside the film room at Tiger Park. The Tigers met with Dr. Shirley White in conjunction with the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes and the Shaquille O’Neal/CHAMPS program for a pair of 60-minute sessions.
The players took part in individual press conferences as Dr. White facilitated guidelines for managing a successful media interview. The team also discussed how to handle different scenarios that could be faced during the season. Each session was filmed so that the players could review their interviews upon completion and learn from their experiences.
“These were two valuable experiences that will help us represent LSU when dealing with the media for the upcoming season,” pitcher Cody Trahan said. “Dr. White also gave some great guidelines for when we have to go interview for jobs after our softball careers are over.”
