BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team completed its media training hosted in the press conference room of the athletic building on Tuesday.
The athletic department is giving special emphasis to media training to better prepare student-athletes for the situations they may encounter in interviews and to help them in their careers extending beyond LSU.
Dr. Shirley White conducted the media training session in conjunction with the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athlete and the Shaquille O’Neal/CHAMPS program.
The members of the team took part in individual and group press conference sessions. The sessions were filmed so that the players could review their interviews upon completion and learn from their experiences.
“It’s a valuable tool and learning experience for our guys,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. “The media sessions prepare them for what they’ll be seeing from the media for the upcoming season, and this is something they can use beyond tennis.”
