BATON ROUGE — The LSU soccer team is ranked as high as No. 13 in the national polls this week following its dominating 4-1 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday night to clinch its third-straight SEC Western Division championship and lock up the No. 2 seed in this week’s SEC Tournament.
The Tigers (12-4-3, 8-2-1 SEC) wrapped up the regular season with a school record eight victories and 25 points in SEC play as they finished No. 2 in the final conference standings for the second year in a row.
LSU has climbed up three spots to No. 13 nationally in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Top 25 released Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers have also climbed up three spots to No. 16 in the Soccer America Top 25 and up two spots to No. 16 in the Soccer Times Top 25 released Monday.
The No. 2-seeded Tigers will battle No. 7-seeded Vanderbilt in the first round of the SEC Tournament on Wednesday with kickoff set for noon CT at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala.
