TAMPA, Fla. — Eight members of the LSU men’s tennis team will travel to compete at the University of South Florida Invitational slated Friday through Sunday at the USF Varsity Courts.
Mark Bowtell, Sebastian Carlsson, Julien Gauthier, Cody Loup, David Roberts, Neal Skupski, Stefan Szacinski and James Turbervill will take the courts for the Tigers, each of whom competed in last week’s ITA Southern Regional.
At the ITA regional, Carlsson reached the semifinals of the singles bracket, and as a duo Skupski and Szacinski advanced to the doubles quarterfinal.
“Sebastian had a breakthrough tournament at the ITA regional,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. “We hope they continue the good play, and with this being the final tournament before January, we really want the competition to springboard our players into the next couple of months.”
USF, Miami and the University of Central Florida will compete with LSU in the flighted tournament.
Play kicks off for the Tigers at 1 p.m. CDT on Friday.
