BATON ROUGE — Coach Trent Johnson and the LSU men’s basketball program will give fans a sneak preview of the 2009-10 basketball team on Wednesday, Oct. 28 when they conduct a free Purple-Gold scrimmage and autograph session at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Doors will open for the event at 6 p.m. and will mark the beginning of a one-hour autograph session with the members of the team that will last until 7 p.m. At that time, fans will move into their seats as Coach Johnson will visit briefly with the fans while the team warms up for the scrimmage that will begin at approximately 7:15 p.m.
The two teams will scrimmage for a minimum of 20 minutes with the remainder of the scrimmage time determined by the LSU coaching staff.
All LSU students who attend the scrimmage will be able to get a free small drink with the purchase of a hot dog at Tiger concessions and there will be other food and drink specials as well.
Season tickets and mini-plans are still on sale for the 2009-10 season that will begin with the regular season opener on Friday, Nov. 13 at the Maravich Center against Louisiana-Monroe. The Tigers will also host the first two rounds of the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pre-Season NIT on Nov. 16 and 17. LSU will host Indiana State in the first round with UW-Milwaukee and Western Kentucky meeting in the first game of the opening round of the South region.
