ATHENS, Ga. — The LSU volleyball continues its four-match SEC road swing Sunday at Georgia. The Tigers have won six of the last seven matches against the Bulldogs.
LSU (8-4, 2-1 SEC) is coming off a 3-0 sweep of Auburn where Brittnee Cooper and Marina Skender teamed for 28 of the Tigers 43 kills. Sam Dabbs dished out a match-best 37 assists as LSU connected for a .356 team hitting percentage. It marked the fourth time that the Tigers have hit over .300 as a team.
Cooper paces LSU with 163 kills and has cranked double-digit kills in 11 of 12 matches this season. Her .376 hitting percentage and 3.54 kills per set ranks third and fourth in the SEC, respectively.
Skender has reached double-figure kills in seven straight matches. She matched a season-best with three aces against Auburn and her 0.33 aces per set are eighth in the SEC.
Dabbs has strung together double-doubles in three of her last five matches. She ranks second in the SEC and has passed out 10.39 assists per set, improving on her 9.22 clip from 2008.
Georgia (10-3, 1-1 SEC) knocked off Mississippi State after falling to Alabama on SEC opening weekend. The Bulldogs defeated Western Carolina during its mid-week match.
Kathleen Gates averages 10.06 assists per set and has fueled four UGA players to over 100 kills highlighted by Valentina Gonzalez, who ranks second in the league connecting for a .381 hitting percentage. Erika Clark has recorded a team-best 150 kills en route to a 3.12 per set ratio and also has reeled in 2.48 digs per set.
