BATON ROUGE ? Four members of the LSU women’s tennis team will compete at the Hoosier Classic while three Lady Tigers will play in the Rice Invitational as both tournaments begin Friday.

Kylie Adamek, Kaitlin Burns, Nicole Kantor and Ebie Wilson will take part in the Hoosier Classic hosted by Indiana at the IU Varsity Tennis Courts in Bloomington, Ind.

“I’m very excited for the team to be playing again. Indiana is always a good tournament. It’s early in the season, so we get a chance to see the kind of talent we have in our different players,” said head coach Tony Minnis.

“I think our three freshmen did a wonderful job at the SEC Fall Classic, and I’m looking forward to getting a chance to see them play.”

The freshman duo of Burns and Wilson competed in the SEC Fall Classic as both Lady Tigers played their first tennis matches on the collegiate level.

Other teams participating in the Hoosier Classic include Indiana, Kansas State, Memphis and Mississippi State.

Lady Tigers Keri Frankenberger, Whitney Wolf and Sloane Mathis will travel to Houston, Texas, to battle in the Rice Invitational hosted by Rice at the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.

Both Frankenberger and Wolf are coming off a successful weekend at the SEC Fall Classic as both players collected two singles wins and two doubles wins.

Mathis is looking for her first win of the fall season as she is competing for the first time in her senior campaign.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing how Whitney and Keri have improved since the last tournament and seeing how Sloane is going to compete in her first tournament,” said assistant head coach Lisa Jackson.

“We’ve done a lot of preparation these past few weeks, and we’re just looking forward to seeing how they will play in this second tournament.”

The two tournaments will conclude Sunday.  First serve is slated for 9:30 a.m. CT at the Hoosier Classic and 8:30 a.m. CT at the Rice Invitational.
