TAMPA, Fla. — After battling Central Florida to a scoreless draw on Friday night, the LSU soccer team will wrap up the 2009 Dafeldecker Classic with a match against tournament host South Florida on Sunday at the USF Soccer Complex that is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. CT.

The Tigers enter the match with a 1-1-1 mark on the young season, while the Bulls are also 1-1-1 this fall after playing Florida International to a 0-0 draw in their tournament opener on Friday.

“I thought we played very well against a good Central Florida team last night, but we just couldn’t get on the board and capitalize on any of our opportunities in the game,” said LSU head coach Brian Lee. “I still felt that it was a big step in the right direction for our team this season. We have another big test against a great program in South Florida tomorrow, so we need to be ready to compete for 90 minutes.”

Sophomore goalkeeper Mo Isom was the driving force behind LSU’s draw against Central Florida as she made six saves on 11 shot attempts by the Golden Knights to earn her second shutout of season and ninth of her young career with the Tigers. She sports an impressive 0.62 goals against average in 2009.

LSU will look to improve its offensive output Sunday as it has scored just three goals in three matches in the fall with seniors Melissa Clarke, Malorie Rutledge and Rachel Yepez each opening their account.

The Tigers will return to the LSU Soccer Complex next weekend as they play host to Oklahoma on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in the first edition of their “Heads Up for the Cure” campaign as they join in the fight against breast cancer. They will then go on the road Sept. 13 to take on Louisiana-Lafayette at 1 p.m.
