Men’s Golf Honored for Academic Performance

BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s golf team prides itself in performance on and off the course, and it was honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Tuesday with the organization’s All-Academic Team award for its outstanding performance in the classroom for the 2008-09 academic year.

LSU is one of 52 Division I programs nationwide to be honored by the GCAA for finishing the 2008-09 season with at least a 3.0 cumulative team grade-point average.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a program must submit the grade points earned and hours attempted for each player on its official roster for a given academic year.

Six members of the LSU men’s golf team were honored as members of the 2009 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll for their outstanding performance in the classroom last season, including Jarrod Barsamian, Brent Blaum, Brian Leveille, Andrew Loupe, John Peterson and Clayton Rotz.
