BATON ROUGE — Leading into the upcoming 2009 season, LSUsports.net will get to know the four freshmen on the Tiger volleyball team. Today’s edition features middle blocker Ally Judkins.
Judkins garnered 2008 TSWA All-State First-Team accolades at Jersey Village High School in Texas. She was selected All-District 15-5A First Team in 2007 & 2008. The Houston native also was listed on PrepVolleyball.com’s Class of 2009 Top 50 recruits. Her club team, Texas Elite, tallied a third-place finish in the American Division at the 2008 USA Junior National Championships.
“The pace of the workouts is totally different, but it’s been a good adjustment so far from high school to college volleyball,” Judkins said. “There’s a lot to live up to wearing the LSU uniform. I’ll do the best I can by working hard every day to contribute and continue LSU’s championship tradition.”
Judkins and the Tigers open the 2009 season this weekend at the Shamrock Invitational. LSU squares off with No. 5 Stanford, Denver and host Notre Dame. Live stats for all three matches will be available on LSUsports.net
The Fall Sports Pass which costs $50 for adults, $25 for youth is now on-sale at www.LSUSports.net, the official Web site of LSU Athletics. Tickets also can be purchased at the ticket office or by calling (225) 578-2184 or (800) 960-8587. LSU students, faculty and staff are admitted free with a LSU ID.
The pass features 21 action packed events and results in a 66 percent savings off regular season ticket prices between the volleyball and soccer programs. Fans who purchase a Fall Sports Pass receive an LSU T-Shirt, Visor and Frisbee.
