BELGRADE, Serbia — LSU swimmer Jane Trepp represented her native country of Estonia at the 25th World University Games Sunday and Monday in Belgrade, Serbia.

Trepp, a three-time All-American who holds seven Lady Tiger records, placed 24th out of 42 swimmers in the 50-meter butterfly Sunday with a time of 28.34 seconds. She followed that effort with a mark of 1:13.19 in the 100m breaststroke Monday to post a 28th-place finish.

The rising junior, who recently earned a spot on her country’s World Championship team, swam this meet in preparation for the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome later this month.

The World University Games is an international sporting festival held every two years, which features some of the top student-athletes in the world from more than 10 different sports.
