CYPRESS, Texas — LSU women’s golfer Abby Oberthier won her first Collegiate Players Tour title Wednesday taking the top spot in the CPT BlackHorse Collegiate Open at the Black Horse Golf Club.
Obertheir, from Montgomery, Texas, who will be a junior this fall at LSU, went wire-to-wire with the tournament lead after opening with a one-under par 71 on the 6,049-yard layout and then posted rounds of 73 and 75 to finish 54-holes with a three-over par score of 219. She finished three shots ahead of Kelsey Kipp of Tyler, Texas. Kipp is a sophomore at Missouri-Kansas City.
LSU’s Mary-Michael Burns of Baton Rouge, finished in 12th place after rounds of 82-80-80 for a 242 total.
