BATON ROUGE — In preparation for the start of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional baseball tournament this weekend, there are several different factors in place with the “new” Alex Box Stadium. Here’s a few things to remember as you prepare for your regional weekend in Baton Rouge.
- Open Practices ? The teams will all have an hour and 15 minutes on the field Thursday and practices are open to the public. LSU will practice first at 10 a.m. followed by Minnesota 11:30 a.m., Baylor at 1 p.m. and Southern at 2:30 p.m.
- Game times Friday, Saturday and Sunday are at 1 and 6 p.m. If the “if necessary” game is played on Monday, game time is 6 p.m. A reminder that you will need a separate ticket for each game and the stadium will be cleared after each game.
- For those who do not have parking passes, it is recommended that you park in the Hayfield Lot located on Gourrier Lane and the Levee Lots off River Road. (View Alex Box Parking/Traffic Maps)
- There will be a free shuttle from both lots beginning two hours prior to any game until one hour following the conclusion of the game.
- Free Motor Home Parking will be in Lot D (the old Alex Box Stadium Lot on Skip Bertman and Nicholson) and that will be available beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday. (LSU Athletics Complex Parking Map)
- Handicap Permits will be able to park in the Alex Box parking lot on a first-come availability.
- Fans are advised to take the necessary heat precautions. Fans will be allowed to bring one bottle of water in per person and there will be cool zones located in the playground areas. Fans are urged to use sun block and to wear clothing that covers the skin and to drink plenty of fluids.
- Fans are reminded of the normal fan policies that will be in effect, including bag checks. (2009 LSU Baseball Fan Guide)
- Fans wishing to leave the stadium during the game must get scanned out at the designated out gates.
- There is no re-sale of tickets allowed on the grounds of Alex Box Stadium
- There will be restroom facilities and trash receptacles available in the parking lot area.
- A reminder also that because of back-to-back games the first three days, contra flow will not be initiated when LSU is playing the first game of the day. (View Alex Box Parking/Traffic Maps)
- Ticket pickup windows at Alex Box Stadium will be open beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and if necessary, 4 p.m. on Monday.
