BATON ROUGE — The No. 22 LSU women’s tennis team will play its final regular season match Saturday when it faces No. 14 Arkansas at the UA Varsity Tennis Courts for a 1 p.m. match.
“We’re really looking forward to our match against Arkansas,” said head coach Tony Minnis. “They have a very talented team, and we’re looking forward to bouncing back and getting some momentum.”
Arkansas (12-6, 7-3 SEC) clinched the Southeastern Conference Western Division title after it defeated Mississippi State, 4-0, and No. 28 Ole Miss, 5-2, last weekend.
The Razorbacks highlight second-ranked Aurelija Miseviciute as she is undefeated in SEC play and garners a 34-3 season record. Miseviciute has notched 23 victories over nationally-ranked opponents.
Sophomore Anouk Tigu checks in at No. 79 with a 10-4 record in dual matches. In doubles, Nanar Airapetian and Tigu list as 20th in the rankings while Ela Kaluder and Miseviciute come in at No. 61.
The Lady Tigers (13-8, 3-6) feature 11th-ranked Megan Falcon as she boasts a 30-6 season record. Falcon has earned 95 wins over her career at LSU and comes in at No. 11 on the all-time wins list for the program’s history.
The Lady Tiger tandem of Falcon and Mykala Hedberg ranked at No. 25 in the latest rankings as the duo holds a 25-7 record with seven victories over nationally-ranked opponents.
After the Arkansas match, LSU will return to Fayetteville for the SEC Tournament which takes place April 23-26.
