Gymnastics Holds Team Gathering Before NCAA’s

BATON ROUGE — Taking a break from practice at the gym, the LSU gymnastics team gathered at head coach D-D Breaux‘s house for a team dinner and party Wednesday evening.

Assistant Coach Bob Moore cooked steaks, while Breaux, her daughter Jewel Fourrier and Moore’s wife Sandra prepared a salad and grilled vegetables for the team.

Toward the end of the evening the team watched highlights of their second-straight victory in the NCAA Central Regional.

“It was good for the kids because we put a lot of pressure on them in practice and in competitions, and this was a chance for them to relax but still be together,” Breaux said. “It’s always fun because Bob does the cooking, and it’s a lot of fun. Some of the kids got in the hot tub, and we all had a good time, especially watching the regional.”

After a brief break from the gym, the Tigers (21-5) will head back to practice Thursday to continue preparations for a second-straight run at the Super Six in the NCAA Championships beginning at 1 p.m. CDT April 16, at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Neb.
