BATON ROUGE — LSU defensive back Phelon Jones has decided to continue his collegiate career at another school, head coach Les Miles confirmed on Friday.
Jones, who just completed his redshirt freshman season with the Tigers, will finish out the spring semester at LSU before transferring.
Jones signed with LSU in February of 2007 out of McGill-Toolen High School in Mobile, Ala.
In his only season of action for the Tigers in 2008, Jones played in nine games with two starts. He finished with 15 total tackles, which included a career-best six stops in wins over Troy and North Texas.
