BATON ROUGE — LSU will host a tailgate party for former letter-winners in all sports on Saturday, April 18, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the concourse of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The tailgate party will precede the LSU Spring Football Game that will start at 5 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.
“It is important for LSU to connect with its past and maintain a strong relationship with its former athletes in all sports,” said LSU director of athletics Joe Alleva. “This is the first in a series of initiatives to establish regular communications with our athletic alumni and involve them more deeply in the LSU Athletics program.”
The tailgate party is part of Super Tiger Weekend, three days of LSU athletic events that includes a baseball series against Tennessee, a softball series against Florida, a men’s tennis match against Arkansas, the LSU Alumni Gold Track Meet and the Spring Football Game, plus the grand opening of the new LSU SportShop.
All letter-winners in all sports are encouraged to attend. Letter-winners whose e-mail addresses are on file with the athletic department have been notified. In addition to former athletes, all managers, trainers and cheerleaders who have earned letters are encouraged to attend.
LSU also encourages letter-winners who cannot attend to contact the school to register for future events and information.
