BATON ROUGE — The LSU women’s tennis team was ranked No. 24 in the latest rankings released Tuesday by the Campbell’s/Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
LSU is joined by seven other SEC teams in the top 25 as Georgia ranks the highest at second. Tennessee and Arkansas check in at 13th and 15th and Florida at 16th. Vanderbilt and Kentucky made the rankings at 19th and 20th. Alabama rounds off the list behind LSU at No. 25 respectively.
Eleven of the SEC’s 12 schools rank in the top 30.
Individually, senior All-American Megan Falcon was voted No. 17 in the nation. Falcon leads the Lady Tigers with a 26-6 season record and a 91-16 career record as she is 14th for all-time wins in LSU’s program history.
In doubles, Falcon and partner Mykala Hedberg placed 17th in the rankings. The duo carries a sparkling record as they are 24-4 overall.
The Lady Tigers will return to the courts to square off against Florida Friday at 3 p.m. CDT at the W.T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium.
