HOUSTON — The LSU volleyball team started its spring season by winning six of eight sets over four matches Saturday at the Rice Spring Tournament in Houston.
The four-time defending SEC Western Division champions swept Rice and TCU, while splitting sets against SMU and Stephen F. Austin.
“This was an excellent first weekend of competition for us,” head coach Fran Flory said. “We were able to mix up our rotations and at the same time give our players an idea of what we need to work on to improve moving forward throughout the spring season.”
The Tigers return to Houston next weekend for the Texas Tornados College Invitational.
