Spring Athletic Training Student Symposium

The Louisiana State University Athletic Training Student Organization, Alpha Tau Sigma, would like to invite interested students, coaches, and parents to our Annual High School Athletic Training Student Symposium. The program that Alpha Tau Sigma puts on is designed to educate high school students on sports medicine at the collegiate level.

The day will consist of:

Demonstrations presented by LSU’s Athletic Training Students:

  • Basic First Aid
  • Splinting
  • Stretching
  • Taping Techniques
  • Use of Therapeutic Modalities
  • Spine-Boarding

Educational lectures from our Senior Associate and Associate Certified Athletic Trainers at LSU.

  • “A typical day of an ATC”
  • Heat Illness
  • Emergency Management
  • Concussions
  • Nutrition

The demonstrations will also include a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes tour our state-of-the-art facilities at LSU.

In the previous years we have found that our program has been beneficial to parents and coaches as well. If anyone you know has an interest in the field of Athletic Training and wants a glimpse behind the scenes of LSU Athletics, they are welcomed to attend. Every attempt will be made to accommodate all skill levels.
