BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Freshman All-American goalkeeper Mo Isom was recently invited to be a guest speaker to the students at Kenilworth Middle School as part of its 21st-annual Brotherhood and Sisterhood Celebration.

Isom was invited along with Charles Dabney of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness to discuss “Respecting our Differences, Celebrating our Similarities.”

Isom’s message focused on how people might be different from one another, but how we all have the same emotions and are able to relate with each other on an emotional level. She discussed her freshman season at LSU, specifically what she has learned from her experiences.

“In such a diverse world, the most important treasure we can possess is compassion,” Isom told the students. “It is important for us to understand that each and every one of us feels many of the same emotions and experiences the same thrills in life.”

The program also included music from around the world, as well as fashion show of clothing and dancing from around the world and a salute to Baton Rouge area veterans.
