BATON ROUGE — The LSU women’s tennis team jumped back into the top 25 as they moved up eight spots to No. 18 in the latest rankings released Tuesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

LSU (7-2) last swept the UL-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns, 7-0, Sunday in Lafayette.

Three other SEC teams joined the Lady Tigers in the top 25. Georgia checked in at No. 2 for the third consecutive week. Tennessee jumped to No. 12, and Kentucky advanced to No. 14 respectively.

The SEC continued to prove its dominance as 11 of its 12 teams are ranked.

Senior All-American Megan Falcon remained as the 12th-ranked singles player. Falcon is undefeated in dual matches at 8-0 as she is 21-4 on the season and just 14 victories shy of earning her 100th career victory. The Alameda, Calif. native brought in her seventh victory over a ranked opponent when she defeated then ranked No. 23 Katie Rybakova of 17th-ranked Florida State.

In doubles, Falcon and Mykala Hedberg listed as No. 17 in the rankings as they are 20-3 on the season with an eight-match win streak. The duo leads the team in dual matches at 8-0.
