BATON ROUGE — The No. 26 LSU women’s tennis team will travel to Lafayette, La. to take on the ULL Ragin’ Cajuns Saturday at 2 p.m. on the Cajun Courts.

LSU (6-2) enters the match after splitting a double header last weekend as they fell to No. 23 Florida State, 5-2, but rebounded to defeat Southern, 6-1

“ULL has a very solid program. They’ve been very competitive every year. We’re expecting a really tough match, especially on their home courts,” said head coach Tony Minnis. “We had a tough loss against Florida State, but we bounced back against Southern. We have to come out and play hard and get some momentum going.”

The Lady Tigers feature 12th-ranked senior Megan Falcon as she leads the team in singles with a 20-4 season record and 85-14 career record. Falcon beat No. 23 Katie Rybakova 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 as she advanced to 7-4 against nationally ranked opponents for the season. She leads the team in dual matches at 7-0.

Junior Nicole Kantor follows closely behind Falcon with a 17-6 record on the season.

In doubles, the 15th-ranked tandem of Falcon and Mykala Hedberg bring an undefeated dual match record of 7-0 to the courts as they are 19-3 on the season.

ULL (0-7) is led by senior Angela Dangond, who is 8-4 in singles after upsetting No. 60 UC Irvine’s 104th-ranked Courtney Byron.

The teams last battled each other in 2006 as Lady Tigers cruised past the Ragin’ Cajuns, 6-1, in Baton Rouge.
