BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Brittany Mack and Louisiana Tech’s Amberly Waits were named the LSWA Louisiana Softball Pitcher and Hitter of the Week Wednesday as voted upon by LSWA.
A freshman pitcher for the Tigers, Mack racked up a 2-0 record with a 0.00 ERA that was highlighted by her first career no-hitter against Texas State. She limited opponents to a .074 batting average and earned Purple & Gold Challenge MVP honors.
A junior infielder for the Lady Techsters, Waits went 8-for-15 en route to four multi-hit games and three multi-RBI efforts. She batted .615, knocked three doubles and drove home seven RBIs for the week.
It’s the first career weekly honor for Mack and second for Waits from the LSWA.
