Men’s Tennis Remains No. 14 in ITA Rankings

BATON ROUGE–The LSU men’s tennis team remained No. 14 in the Campbell’s/Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s national rankings, the ITA announced on Tuesday.

LSU holds a 2-2 overall record, split between ranked opponents. The Tigers notched wins over both former No. 20 Texas Tech and then 27th-ranked Rice, each by a 4-3 mark. LSU’s two losses stem from then No. 12 Tulsa and No. 3 Ohio State.

LSU is one of six Southeastern Conference teams listed in the top 25. Three teams appear in top 10.  Georgia remained the SEC leader at the No. 2 position. Behind Georgia, Tennessee listed at No. 8, and Ole Miss remained at No. 9 to round out SEC representation in the top 10. Florida landed just outside the top ten at No. 12 followed by Alabama (No. 19) and Kentucky (No. 21).

LSU returns to action on Saturday in a home doubleheader, squaring off with UL-Lafayette at 1 p.m. and New Orleans at 5 p.m. in W.T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium.
