It’s Time to Open the Box: Baseball Stadium Traffic

Second in a series of four advisories pertaining to the New Alex Box Stadium

BATON ROUGE — LSU is opening a new baseball stadium on Friday night and LSU fans are encouraged to be familiar with traffic procedures.  LSU will play its first game in the new park on Friday when the No. 1-ranked Tigers host Villanova beginning at 7 p.m.  Pre-game ceremonies to open the park will start at 6:15 p.m.

Because the lots nearest the new Alex Box Stadium are located on Gourrier Avenue which is a two-lane street, fans are encouraged to carpool, arrive early and be patient as they learn the routes to these parking areas.

LSU strongly encourages all fans to park in lots to the west of Nicholson Drive.  LSU discourages parking to the east of Nicholson Drive which would require pedestrians to cross Nicholson Drive, a four-lane state highway.
