Men’s Tennis to Begin Dual Season Ranked No. 16

BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team is set to begin the dual season on Saturday ranked at No. 16 according to the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings announced on Thursday.

The ITA has the Southeastern Conference well represented with a total of six SEC teams appearing in the top 25.  Defending national champion Georgia holds the peak position for the conference at No. 3.  Following Georgia is Florida (No. 7), Tennessee (No. 8), Ole Miss (No. 9) and Alabama (No. 24).

Six of LSU’s seven non-conference opponents are listed in the rankings, highlighted by Ohio State at nation’s current No. 1 position.

LSU enters its dual season beginning with Texas Tech at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, where they are set to square off against the No. 20 team at 9 a.m. on Jan. 31 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
