BATON ROUGE — Stefan Szacinski of Australia has signed a letter of intent to join the LSU men’s tennis team, head coach Jeff Brown announced on Thursday.
Szacinski participated in the Australian Open Junior in both singles and doubles and was a National Boy’s 16 finalist on clay, grass and hard courts.
“We are excited to have Stefan joining us,” Brown said. “He is one of the top-ranked junior players in Australia and has received nothing but praise from the coaches on the Australia national team for his work ethic as well as his tennis ability.”
Szacinski, ranked as high as No. 76 in the Tennis Australian Men’s Ranking, is the first to sign with the Tigers for the 2009-10 season.
