BATON ROUGE — The LSU Track & Field Association recently elected its new officers for the 2008-09 season, named five association members to its Board of Directors and inducted three of its members into the LSUTF Association Hall of Fame.
E.L. Gueho has been elected to serve as Association President, while Dwight Woosley will serve as Vice President this season. Paul Stelly and Myrna Schexnayder have been re-elected to fill the position of treasurer and secretary, respectively, this season.
In addition, members who were voted to serve on the LSUTF Board of Directors include Francis Becnel, Donald Dunbar, Darwin Klar, L.J. Raymond and Myrna Schexnayder.
Newly elected officers will serve one-year terms in their respective positions, while all new board members will serve in that capacity for the next three years.
The association also honored three of its members for their dedicated service over the years as Stewart Blue, Walter Babin and Jim “Biggie” Bickford have earned induction into the LSUTF Association Hall of Fame. Each inductee will be recognized at LSU’s first home meet of the 2009 season at the Purple Tiger Classic on Jan. 23.
Anyone who would like to become a USA Track & Field certified official, a required certification and re-certification meeting will be held at LSU on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the fifth floor conference room of the LSU Athletic Administration Building.
