LSU Offers Five-Year Incentive on Centennial Ticket Package

BATON ROUGE — The LSU Athletics Department has made a great deal even better for men’s basketball games this season as part of the 100th anniversary celebration.

As has been previously announced, the athletic ticket office in commemoration of the 100th anniversary was offering a $100 season ticket for the 21-game home schedule, making the game-by-game tickets less than $5 a game.

Now as a special incentive for the package, including those that have already been purchased, LSU Athletics Director Joe Alleva is committing not to increase the price of that $100 ticket if fans continue to renew their purchase for at least the next five seasons.

“If you are not a basketball season ticket holder and you have ever thought about spending a season at the Maravich Center, now is the time,” said Alleva. “Our Centennial Season Ticket Package is the best bargain at LSU in any sport in many years.”

The LSU men’s basketball season begins on Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Maravich Assembly Center against Jackson State in the first half of an unprecedented basketball-football doubleheader on the LSU campus. LSU will play Troy that night at 7 p.m. in football in the rescheduled game from September after Hurricane Gustav.

The team will hold a Purple-Gold scrimmage this coming Tuesday night open to the public with free admission. Doors will open at the Maravich Center at 6 p.m. with the scrimmage to start at approximately 6:30 p.m. There will be an autograph session with the members of the team following the scrimmage.

“Our basketball student-athletes need your support,” said Alleva. “Come out to the Maravich Center and take advantage of our great ticket offers. Bring the family and have fun. That’s what LSU sports are all about. It is an old game with a new coach, so come out and see our Tigers.”
