BATON ROUGE — The LSU women’s golf team, coming off a record-setting win in its last tournament in Knoxville, moved up to 13th in both the Golfstat poll and the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Rankings.
The Tigers have an adjusted scoring average through the first two events of 72.75 and are 6-3 against the top 25 this season. They are one of five SEC teams in the top 13 of the Golfstat rankings behind Georgia (3), Vanderbilt (6), Alabama (7), and Auburn (11). LSU plays in the Auburn-Derby Invitational starting this Friday.
UCLA is the number one team in the Golfstat rankings, followed by Southern California and Arizona State. In the Golfweek/Sagarin performance rankings, USC is one followed by Arizona State and UCLA. Georgia is four in that poll, Vandy 6th, Alabama 7th and Auburn 12th.
A total of 11 teams in the top 25 have tournament wins with only No. 17 California having two wins on the season.
