AUBURN, Ala. — The LSU volleyball team goes back on the road Sunday for a battle with division rival Auburn at 1:30 p.m. at the Student Activities Center.
LSU will be looking to rebound from a tough sweep by Georgia last Wednesday, while the other Tigers in Auburn also fell to Georgia, 3-2, on Friday in Auburn.
The loss dropped LSU’s record to 8-6 (3-4 Southeastern Conference), while Auburn’s mark stands at 5-13 (0-7 SEC).
“We are continuing to work toward a consistent lineup and level of play,” LSU volleyball head coach Fran Flory said. “We had two very solid, productive practices late this week and feel that we are headed in the right direction.”
Auburn has struggled in the early going, winning just five of 18 matches heading into the contest. They are winless in the SEC at 0-7. The Tigers were swept by both Tennessee and Kentucky last weekend, but played a much closer match with Georgia on Friday. They led the Bulldogs in hitting efficiency, .165-.161 in the loss.
LSU, meanwhile, is looking to regroup from a tough loss to Georgia itself. They were swept by the Bulldogs in a midweek match on Wednesday.
LSU leads the all-time series with Auburn, 30-11, and has won 13 straight over the league’s other Tigers dating back to 2001.
