OMAHA, Neb. — Elena Martinez and Brittnee Cooper were named to the Bluejay Invitational All-Tournament team for their performances in leading the No. 21 LSU volleyball team to a 2-1 performance over the weekend.
Martinez, the senior libero, recorded 57 digs in the Tigers’ three matches, averaging 4.38 digs per set. The New Orleans native also tallied 13 kills, 11 assists and two service aces. Thirty-one of her digs came in the 3-2 thriller against Texas A&M on Friday, the most digs she’s had in a single match since grabbing 34 against Iowa on Sept. 8 of last year.
Cooper’s contributions for the Tigers came at the net. The junior middle blocker had 11 total blocks over the weekend while also adding 34 kills. She averaged .85 blocks per set and 2.62 kills per set during the Bluejay Invitational.
